THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED! CONGRATULATIONS TO AMANDA H.!!!!!
Gluten-Free Brownies. I made these brownies, however we are not vegan so I chose to use ghee instead of the “vegan buttery spread” recommended. And, of course, I used Coconut oil instead of “vegetable oil” plus eggs. These brownies turned out wonderful! I’ve never used coconut oil when making brownies before and we were all very pleased with the results. It also did very well in a loaf of bread we baked recently, though we used a tad too much flour so the loaf was a bit dense.
It proved to be a very clean cooking oil for frying our grass-fed, local eggs. It doesn’t impart a strong coconut taste like some other coconut oil I’ve used in the past.
If you read my previous post on Dry Skin Care you’d know that I’ve been using coconut oil in my oily/sugar scrub! I’ve also rub it on any dry spots in between instead of using lotion. It does a great job at relieving dry skin without leaving a greasy feeling, it soaks in pretty quickly usually. The Mister of the house has been using it on his hand lately because they get pretty dry at work due to handling cardboard boxes all day.
I’ve applied it to two different small kitchen wounds over the past week, sometimes I’m a little klutzy with a knife, and there was considerably less pain afterwards.
Our overall verdict? We’re generally very pleased with Topical Traditions’ coconut oil and will continue to use it in replacement of any brand at the health food store.

Win 1 quart of Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil!
Tropical Traditions is America’s source for coconut oil. Their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is hand crafted in small batches by family producers, and it is the highest quality coconut oil they offer. You can read more about how virgin coconut oil is different from other coconut oils on their website: What is Virgin Coconut Oil?
Tropical Traditions also carries other varieties of affordable high quality coconut oil. Visit their website to check on current sales, to learn about the many uses of coconut oil, and to read about all the advantages of buying coconut oil online.
Since the FDA does not want us to discuss the health benefits of coconut oil on a page where it is being sold or given away, here is the best website to read about the health benefits of coconut oil.
Giveaway will be open 6/1/12 until 6/15/12. U.S. Residents Only
